A traditional color, day-time image of Brookland-Cayce High School in Cayce, SC. The school was founded in 1931 and completed in 1932. This school has been the heart of this community for generations. My mother and father graduated in 1936 & 37. I graduated in 1967. Our son graduated in 1997 and our daughter in 2006. In 1990, a fire destroyed this main building, except for the front that you see here. The community saved it from the wrecking ball. It was rebuilt, retaining this classic facade.
Charles Hite is a life-long resident of Lexington County, in South Carolina. His professions have included, the U.S. Army (serving in Germany), licensed professional land surveyor, sales/customer service rep, and right-of-way agent with the SCDOT. In addition to photography, his hobbies include astronomy and landscape gardening. His venture into serious photography began in 2009 at age 60.
