That giant black and yellow spider in your garden is the Garden Argiope or Black and Yellow Argiope (Argiope aurantia), they are also called Corn Spiders, Writing spider and Zig Zag Spiders Golden Orb Weavers, etc. This little lady has been in our front yard for over a week in the same place. Interesting to watch.
