The Lancaster County Chain Gang Barrack, W.P.A 1937. This was still in use in 1979 as the county chain gang barrack. In 1979, the "chain gang" was moved across the road to a new facility. Charles Hite is a life-long resident of Lexington County, in South Carolina. His professions have included, the U.S. Army (serving in Germany), licensed professional land surveyor, sales/customer service rep, and right-of-way agent with the SCDOT.
