This is a scene in the courtyard of Cayce United Methodist Church, in Cayce, SC. The original Cayce UMC was established in 1913, in a blacksmith's shop. The first church, built of wood, was completed in 1916 and this bell was installed in the steeple. In January of 1956, this original church was destroyed by fire. Only this bell and the large pulpit Bible survived the fire. In April of 1957, the current church was completed. To commemorate the church's 90th anniversary, this original bell was installed on the front lawn the church. Every Sunday morning this bell is rung before and after our worship service. In 2013 we celebrate our 100th anniversary...Praise GOD!
